A Christmas Poem II

The King of kings, Eternal God
Came to the world He made.
He could have come a mighty Prince,
But as a babe was laid
Among the straw in manger crude
In the midst of oxen food!

The mother of the holy child
Was not of world-wide fame.
She was a humble village maid
Just ‘Mary’ was her name.

The angels did not sound their voice
Before the earthly King;
‘Twas to the ears of shepherd lads
Their message they did bring.

Oh, proud and haughty, you must stoop
And kneel upon the floor:
From there the Saviour beckons you
To enter through the door.

There Is No Better Time

There Is No Better Time There are so many argumentsOf dates and source and rightsThat mingle with this Christmas timeAnd it’s commercial lights. We sometimes miss the chance that PaulHad grabbed so long ago,When he had used the unknown godTo point to God below. So much is wrong, the sceptics
