John Bunyan the erstwhile tinker is known across the world as the author of the famous and well-read Pilgrim’s Progress one of the most published and acclaimed books in literature. Sixty other books were written by him, many deserving a marked place in literature including the ‘Holy War in 1682, Grace Abounding in 1666 which was a reflection of His conversion, The Life and Death of Mr. Badman in 1680 and the sequel to Pilgrim’s Progress’. He also wrote simpler poems e.g. The Boy and the Butterfly and ‘Upon a Snail’ with a spiritual application. His allegorical style has captured the imagination of young and old and are timeless.
