Roy Hession was a British evangelist. He experienced a barren ministry even while conducting evangelistic meetings until he realized his deep need of God’s intervention in 1947 and humbly sought and found God in full surrender. This happened when he met leaders of the East African Church in 1947 who were part of the East African Revival movement. What led to this vital meeting with God is depicted in his famous book, the Calvary Road. Other famous books written by him are ‘We would see Jesus and ‘Be Filled Now’ among many others, treasured by Christians across the world.
