He Was Sent
In the hustle and bustle and throngs of men
On that long ago Christmas Day
In the hustle and bustle and throngs of men
On that long ago Christmas Day
A mother on donkey, so heavy with child
Was slowly winding her way
Oh Heaven, ‘Thy Glory’ was sacrificed
In human form He lay
So fragile, so tiny, so helpless, so small
Amidst the manger hay
He was sent to pay the awful price
Our sin on Him was laid
The only sacrifice that could
Our penalties have paid
And thus man sent Him to the cross
Condemned Him – “He must die!”
Not realizing His very death
Our souls would justify
He rose – a God victorious
He rose – a Ruling King
That to a sinful evil world
Salvation – Hope did bring
But man ‘God’s Gift’ rejected
Until the present day
Thus man for every sin in life
The penalty will pay!
Unless in this world’s bustle
He turns from all his sin
And by his simple faith in Christ
Forgivness, peace doth win.
