Am I the Cause?

Am I the cause of the conflicts,
Am I the cause of the pain,

Heart-ache and anger and pain?

Am I the one that is spending,
More than the budget allows?
Am I the one that is adding
Lines to Dad’s deep furrowed brows?

Am I the child disobedient,
Sowing discord, saddness, strife?
Am I the one that is dragging,
Negative feelings through life?

Am I the one that needs changing,
For things to change in the home?
Let me be honest and own up
Repent, Thy blood to atone.
