Do Not Be Late! - Chapel Chat
The president of the United Nations (Babylon) asked three young Christian men, Shad, Mesh and Abe, to fall down and worship the huge, gold, sexual seductress, sports images (a god or gods) that he was promoting or be killed (cast into a burning, fiery furnace).
Shad, Mesh and Abe responded by saying, that at one time they worshipped these gods but now worshipped the One God of grace and mercy who had delivered them from the burning fiery furnace for all time. (The lake of fire, Rev. 20:15) The Pres. responded by saying that no god could deliver from his hands and had them killed.
Much later, the Pres. dies and finds himself in torment by fire. He looks across a great chasm and sees Shad, Mesh and Abe (Lazarus, Luke 16:23) sipping ice water and enjoying the company of great men (Abraham) who worshipped the One God, who created the heaven and earth and delivers repentant sinners. The Pres. asks for help but is told that it is too late. The decision to avoid the lake of fire, by trusting the sacrifice of the One God, is made on earth, not after you are in the fire. The Pres. was now a repentant, believer but it was tooo late. Death can come suddenly, choose life now.
This is an adaptation of two Bible stories, one in the OT and one in the NT, Daniel 3 and Luke 16:19-31. Read these true stories and let the Lord use them for your special help in coming to know Him.
