PAST MEMORIES

Memories of the very far past
Why does God allow you in my thoughts to last
Or is my soul not wanting to let them go
I’ll give them to Jesus—the path to me He’ll show

Memories of the past so very near
Just thinking of them makes me shed a tear
Then Jesus comes down so very near
I took your cross little lad do not fear

Memories of the past will He take away
Replace them with present ones to sit and stay
Just walk with Me day by day
And my child the sad memories will go away
I’ll give My thoughts to you and they will stay
If on your knees to my Father—you pray
