PRIDE

Pride cost Lucifer’s light to shine
The idea of ascending above God all power be mine
This magnificent creature once loved after being created
Got thrown out of heaven and is now by God hated

Pride is a powerful darkening sin
Part of you―your essence blood―cancer within
This proud beast bashing thru’ your hearts door
Wanting you dead, bleeding on the floor

Pride is a force to be reckoned with
Daily by Jesus through His free gifts
Humbling yourself in prayer by His grace
With this cautious enemy we are never entirely safe
Might we by grace stay humble on the earth face
