Digging a Well with Toothpicks - Melody Conjurske
For these living waters full and free
The craving I now find in me,
But how to get them, I know not,
So then I use what I have got
These little tiny worthless sticks
I’m digging a well with toothpicks,
With all my efforts, I have found,
I’m only scratching up the ground.
I’m angry, frustrated and hurt,
That my little sticks can’t pick up the dirt.
I cast my little sticks aside,
And in my Heavenly Friend confide.
I ask in simple faith that He
Would scoop the dirt right out for me,
And so according to His word,
I find my little prayer is heard.
