Faith, Unconquerable – Charles Spurgeon

THE faith of God’s elect can write “invicta” upon its escutcheon; it is unconquered and unconquerable; but the faith which springs from mere human reason will speedily give way like a pasteboard helmet, or a wooden sword. O sharp temptations! terrible as you are to me, yet I thank God for you, because the trial of my faith, which is much more precious than that of gold which perishes, though it be tried by fire shall redound to the glory of God and to my own comfort.
