FOOLISH JEPHTHAH AND OUR HUMBLE LORD - Chapel Chat

For what great person or great principle would you give your son or daughter as a sacrifice to death to achieve the goal?
Jephthah was a general and judge of Israel. Israel had turned away from the Lord and was worshipping the gods of the nations around them. For eighteen years Israel was under the subjection of the Ammonites because of idolatry.  Judges 11
Israel put away their idols and cried out to the Lord for deliverance. Jephthah pleaded with the Lord for victory, and made a vow that whatever came out of his doorway when he returned victorious, he would offer as a sacrifice to the Lord.
The Lord gave Israel a great victory and Jephthah returned home to see his only child, a daughter, come running to meet him. He grieves and explains his vow to his daughter. She asks for two months to grieve and then subjects herself to being a sacrifice to the Lord to fulfill her father’s foolish vow.
Our Lord and Savior also subjected Himself to be a sacrifice for our foolish and willful sins.  Only the blood sacrifice of a perfect man would allow God to be justified in declaring a sinner righteous. Christ came down to earth to be that perfect man as a sacrifice for sin. “As Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling aroma.”  Eph. 5:2. The sacrifice was huge, believe it, accept it.

1Ti 2:6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time,
Mt 20:19 “and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again.”
Isa 53:7  He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth.
Isa 53:10 When You make His soul an offering for sin,
Isa 53:12 Because He poured out His soul unto death, — And He bore the sin of many,
