Foot Prints in my Heart - Melody Conjurske
I find some foot prints in my heart,
They’ve walked in almost every part.
I find some foot prints in my heart,
They’ve walked in almost every part.
They went down all those lonely roads,
And viewed my many heavy loads.
They told me they were all in vain
There was no need to keep my pain;
And worse than that they dug around,
And do not like what they have found.
They dug up filth and hurt and shame,
And just whatever you can name.
They poked around and started in,
And started calling all this sin.
They dug in all my hidden drawers,
And picked at every bleeding sore.
They dumped it all in ugly piles,
And stretched in on for endless miles.
I simply want to crawl in bed,
And pull the cover o’er my head.
I don’t know where to even start,
In my messed up shattered heart.
How to sort through all this mess,
Is way to big for me, I guess.
I feel alone and ripped apart,
With just an ugly dug up heart.
I have no heart to even try,
So all I do is sit and cry.
But…
There’s One who holds me in the night,
When everyone is out of sight.
He’s here to catch my falling tears,
And talks with me about my fears.
I do not know the way to go,
But if I follow Him, I know,
He’ll lead me from these lonely roads,
And carry all my heavy loads.
He’ll put some treasures in my drawers,
And patch up all my bleeding sores.
He’ll sweep away my ugly piles,
And fill my heart with endless smiles.
