Humble Thyself to Walk With God
Dear God, ‘tis Thee must humbled be
To walk with mere humanity
Dear God, ‘tis Thee must humbled be
To walk with mere humanity
The God who made the clouds unfold
Who angry billowed seas unrolled
Who hung the stars in flimsy space
Who set the orbits ‘running pace’
Who made the sun to warm the plain
Who sent the little drops of rain
The worlds-suspended by Thy Word
Without Thee, not a twig is stirred
This God doth deem to walk with man!
Oh God, it seems too great a span
But man doth sit upon a throne
That is reserved for God alone
Man’s life doth rest within His Hand
Oh let it be as God has planned
For He doth know the pitfalls there
Don’t spurn the tender Shepherds care
Oh leave that petty man-made throne
And do not strive to rule alone
For pride must bend beneath the rod
To walk WITH THE ALMIGHTY GOD.
