I Will Not

I will not – Daniel purposed
And what a stand made he

I will not – Daniel purposed
And what a stand made he
Through all the dangers he had faced
He never swerved from Thee

I will not ‘blessed purpose’
To meet the tempting foe
For then my very will is schooled
To firmly answer – no!

I will not–be your purpose
Dear child of God today
So that no-one, no thing, no call
Can tempt you from God’s way.
