IMMANUEL, SENT BY GOD, BORN OF A WOMAN. - Chapel Chat
Oh to have been with Christ after His resurrection as he revealed to the disciples all the prophecies concerning Himself, beginning with Moses and the prophets. Luke 24:27
He might have started with the prophecy given to the serpent (Satan) at the fall of mankind when He said that He would one day “bruise Satan’s head.” Gen. 3:15, I John 3:8. “destroy works—devil”
Micah 5:2 records that the ruler of Israel would be born in Bethlehem and Isaiah 7:14 declares that He would be born of a virgin and His name would be called Immanuel, which means God with us.
He could have told them that His own people, the Jews, wouldreject Him and crucify Him in Isaiah 53:3. Psalm 22 declares that “dogs have surrounded Me; The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. They pierced My hands and My feet; I can count all My bones.”
He might have especially told them how His side would be pierced, as recorded in Zechariah 12:10; and the blood poured out to provide forgiveness for the sins of all mankind.
His final thoughts might have used David’s prophecy that “God would not allow His Holy One to see corruption,” the resurrection.
Sixty prophecies and more testify to the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ the Son of God. At the proper time, “God sent forth His Son, born of a woman,” Galatians 4:4.
All this done for us that we might choose to have life with Him!
