IT IS EITHER WRONG OR RIGHT
Sin is the transgression of or lack of conformity to God’s holy law. Sin refers to anything that breaks or is wrong in our relationship with God. There are no grey areas with sin, its either sin (black) or it is not sin (white), the only reason people come up with grey areas is because there are secret sins in their lives, they did not let go so they justify themselves by this grey area which us unbiblical.
Pagan people (unbelievers/sinners) generally makes THREE mistakes with regard to their views about the nature of sin:
• They do not understand that we sin against God—to have many girlfriends is alright but to sleep with your neighbours wife is sin.
• They deny the seriousness of sin—sins are not called sins but are only called mistakes.
• They put the blame on others—the parents, political systems, the devil.
Romans says by one man (Adam) sin came into the world. We inherited and are born in sin because of Adam, thus we are born with a sinful nature and sin is a matter of the heart
• Rebellion against God
• Ungodliness
And scripture teaches the following characteristics of sin:
• Sin is moral evil
• Sin is absolutely wrong
• Sin is a lack of conformity to God’s law
• Sin includes both guilt and pollution
• Sin arises from the heart
• Sin includes motives and thoughts
The righteousness of God demands that sin must be punished, “the wages of sin is death.” The death of Jesus on the Cross shows God’s righteousness.
Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice for the penalty He paid for your sins. All you have to do is realize you sinned against a Just and holy God and come to the Cross.
