On this dark starry night
I prayed in fear to Jesus the Light
To protect me if He wanted He might
I’m fearing for my life can’t sleep tonight

On this dark starry night
Darkness came very strong in might
The angel-demon a horrifying sight
Help me Lord Jesus I beg thee
Hold me … hold me tight

On this very dark, dark night
The struggle began what a bloody fight
In fearful screams in trouble indeed
The blood on my face―He did save me

On this evil dark night
The Man on the God-forsaken tree
Saved my life and showed me
In the near future―My child to be
Giving your thoughts
Glorifying your Saviour―Jesus is He
