Mother!! - Martha Petrusevich

The work of a mother never seems to end
She needs to be a mom, a wife, a friend,
There are always clothes she needs to mend,
And a weed filled garden to clean and tend.

There are dirty clothes to wash and fold,
A sick and fussy baby, to rock and hold.
There are dishes to wash and put away,
And daily chores to do each busy day.

Sweep the floors, and dust and mop,
The tasks keep coming, without a stop.
Ironing, sewing, and washing too,
There are so many things she needs to do.

Meals to cook and fresh bread to bake,
Much canning to do, and beds to make.
Making sure the house is tidy and neat,
These are the tasks, she needs to complete.

She needs patience and kindness too,
And so much wisdom, that is true.
To teach her children what is right,
Making sure they don’t quarrel or fight.

Teaching them about the almighty Lord,
And tell them, about his Holy Word.
Teaching them to listen and obey,
To thank the Lord and trust and pray.

To teach them what is right and wrong,
And with each other, to get along.
To love each other deeply and obey,
To learn new things each passing day.

To calm her children’s hearts and fears,
To hold them close, and wipe their tears.
To be their mom who is always there,
Who understands and will always care.

There is always work for her to do,
And it is so hard sometimes, that’s true.
The tasks seem so big or very small,
But does she trust the Lord, in it all?

For if she does, then she is strong,
She does her work with heart and song,
God gives her strength for each new day,
For all her fears, at His feet she can lay.

A Godly mother is a blessed thing,
She can joy and love to others bring!!!
Make this world a better place,
If she does it all with a smile on her face!!!
