Stand up for Jesus…

There was in the 1800’s an atheist who claimed he could disprove God. A large crowd of Christians came to listen to him. He was such a good speaker that no one in the crowd dared answer him. He shouted out hatred against God. After a long while a little girl walked to the front. She was crying because the Saviour she loved was being mocked while no Christian’s in the crowd had the guts to withstand his enemies. She walked up to the front and stood on the stage and sang an old hymn. Stand up, stand up for Jesus! ye soldiers of the cross; Lift high His royal banner, it must not suffer loss: From vict’ry unto vict’ry, His army shall He lead, Till every foe is vanquished, and Christ is Lord indeed. As she sang the Christians in the crowd joined in and eventually everyone (except the atheist) was singing. The Atheist did not know what to say in response to the love of this Child for her God. He left the stage.
