This Modern World

It’s tempting in this modern world
To skim the edge of sin;
To seek the world’s approval,
Desire her smile to win.

It seems so hard to be the one
That’s always saying No
To what the world deems reasonable.
It aggravated them so.

And thus I’m tempted to go down
The lanes that God abhors,
While Satan’s music fills my ears,
I cross forbidden doors.

I’ve ended up so miserable.
I’ve questioned life its aims,
Because I dabbled with the world,
Down many hell- bound lanes!
