Two Years Ago

Two years ago? It seems like yesterday
That you so quietly, gently slipped away
With pipes and tubes attached to a machine
A second more! into a different scene!

Did angels carry you to God that day?
How I had longed to go with on your way
But God said “Stay! Keith’s work is done
But yours my child, has hardly yet begun!”

I wonder if within that ‘Witness Cloud’
A peep below has ever been allowed?
The battles here the trials, the joys, the care
Laughter and tears Are you of them aware?

But I know One who watches does not sleep
‘Tis Christ Himself who does full vigil keep
His tender love surrounds me like a cloud
And nought happens that He, God, has not allowed!

In loving memory on the 2 year anniversary of my dear husband passing
