Who Are You?
Can you plunge the depth of seas;
Understand the ways of bees;
Can you plunge the depth of seas;
Understand the ways of bees;
Count the waves upon the shore;
Or instruct a dinosaur?
Did you choose our planet’s course;
Or give strength unto the horse?
Can you reach up to the sky?
Can you cause the hawk to fly?
Have you made the drops of dew?
Does the rain begin with you?
Have you formed the crystal ice,
Hoary frost, or scented spice?
Can you cause the wind to blow?
Can you stop the ocean’s flow?
Have you made the morning light,
Or the stars that shine at night?
Do you know your inward parts;
Know the workings of men’s hearts?
Was the universe your plan?
Were you there when life began?
There is One and only One,
Who these very things has done.
He is worthy of my praise;
He’s the maker of my days.
I myself am only vile,
On the earth but for a while.
I would bow my head in dust;
Only God shall have my trust.
