Amy Carmichael is well known for the wonderful haven she gave to children who had been forced into temple prostitution, creating a safe orphanage where they could escape the horrors of that life. She worked in India for fifty-five years, having been called under a message by Hudson Taylor into foreign missions, although already in outreach work in England. She wrote about her work in thirty- five volumes. She also wrote poems that were a blessing to many including ‘His Faithfulness’; ‘Rose from Briar’ and ‘O Lord My Strength and Confidence’.
