Drunkard Gets saved
At the age of 16, I had my first beer. By the age of 18, I was the town drunk in Crystal Falls, Michigan.
From the age of 18 to the age of 38, I drank heavily. During that time, I spent a small fortune on a product that caused me to have three car accidents—one of which should have killed me.
I had two friends who went to early graves because of alcohol. I cannot tell you how many times I had my head in the toilet bowl, so sick that I wanted to die, vomiting up what I had paid for the night before.
On May 29, 1968, I fell 28 feet and broke both legs. I also smashed the bones in my ankles, and the doctors said I would never walk again.
On June 23, 1973, I was invited to attend a Bible-believing church, where Jesus Christ became Lord of my life.
In September 1973, He set me free from alcohol just as if I had never drunk before. It has now been 38 years without a desire to drink alcohol.
In October 1973, the Lord enabled me to put away the braces and walk without them. I have been walking ever since.
In 1974, the Lord called me into the ministry as a pastor and evangelist. I continued in ministry until retiring in mid-2011.
Now I speak to you with all sincerity.
You who do not know where you will end up at death…
You who have a drinking problem…
I have an answer for you: His Name is Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ can become Lord of your life, give you a home in Heaven, and give you victory over the habits that have held you captive.
Do You Have the Son?
First John says:
“He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.”
Simply put, when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you receive the gift of eternal life and a home in Heaven, where there will be no more death, sorrow, crying, or pain.
Reject Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and at death you will face the lake which burns with fire and brimstone. Revelation says that anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
What Must I Do to Gain Heaven and Miss Hell?
Be honest with Jesus. Tell Him that you are a sinner in need of a Savior. Then go to Him in prayer:
“Lord Jesus, I now confess to You all the wrong and sinful things that I have done in my life. I ask You to please forgive me and wash away all my sins by the blood that You personally shed for me on the cross.
“I am now ready to accept You as my personal Lord and Savior. I ask You to come into my life and live with me for all eternity.
“Father, Jesus—I now believe that I am truly saved and born again.
“Thank You, Father. Thank You, Jesus.”
With love in Christ
