F - Christian Hymns

There are so many well-beloved hymns sung all over the world in the F section of hymns. Who has not loved the hymn by Carrie Ellis Breck, ‘Face to Face with Christ my Saviour’ or worshipped the Lord Jesus with the words of ‘Fairest Lord Jesus’ of which the  author is unknown. Surely it will be a joy in Heaven for that person to realize how the hymn continues to draw people closer to God.  In this section there are hymns that are fundamental to our faith as the ‘Faith of our Fathers by Frederick William Faber, hymns that refer to life as a journey, ‘Far from my heavenly home by Henry Francis Lyte’ and hymns for Children to sing as in ‘Father Bless Our School Today’ by Annie Cummings. ‘Flee as a Bird’ by Mary Dana Shindler echoes David in the psalm and  ‘Fling out the Banner’ by George Washington Doane speaks of the Banner held up by the Christian against the onslaughts of satan,  Follow on by William Orcutt Crushing  is an incentive to press forward and who is not delighted to sing the popular ‘From Greenland’s Icy Mountains’ by Reginald Heber? Truly the F Section is brimful of wonder hymns all starting with the letter F.
