God Claims All – Andrew Murray

God Claims All – Andrew Murray

God Claims All. To him are all things. The end ever returns to the beginning. All that comes forth from God returns to God. In the very nature of things, as all is of God and through God, all must be to him for his sake and glory. To the question, What is the chief end of man? There can be no higher answer than: To glorify God and enjoy him for ever. And how can man glorify him? Simply by making known what a glorious being he is, by proving that he is worthy to be honoured, trusted and obeyed. And this, again, is done very specially by just yielding ourselves to God to work in us all his will. As Peter says, If any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth, that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ. There is no higher way of glorifying God than being his passive instrument, waiting for him to work in us, doing our work as of the ability which God giveth. The more we know that all is of God, and all through God, the more spontaneous will be the surrender of all to God. Our one aim will be to glorify God. And in glorifying God we shall enjoy him.
