Too Proud

Too proud to acknowledge your need of God;
Too proud to bow to Him;
Too proud to turn to from depravity,
Your waywardness and sin.

So, lost without God, eternally
Your soul in turmoil lands,
Because your pride had closed the door
And barred God’s helping hands.

Too proud to acknowledge, child of Mine,
The error of your way;
Too proud to turn, come back to me
From where your feet did stray.

Too proud to submit to authority;
Too haughty to obey,
Thus you are stumbling on your path
And crippled every day.
